A pow-wow is a social gathering held by many different Native American communities. A modern pow-wow is a specific type of event for Native American people to meet and dance, sing, socialize, and honor their cultures.
In the painting, in the background we have a dream catcher; the woman is dressed in a Native American traditional costume with jewelry.
Learning about other cultures is one way to widen our views of life. My interest in tradition, religion, and rituals of different countries has inspired me for years and POW-WOW is one of the paintings resulting from this inspiration.
